OK, for my 2000GT, which has chewed its tires up in 30000 miles.

Do I put on a set of Wynstar Exocet tires? They're CHEAP!!

Or go with the Eagles, and maybe put on only two, since the back two are still marginal.

Or is there another good brand about the same price (165 a tire)??

forget saving and really cheap tires. tires are the last stop when it comes to breaking, don't sell your self short. not only is a tire a performance item it's also the best safty device you have to stop. i recommend BFGoodrich's g-force, K series.

OK, I'm not buying the cheapies.

Then the choice might be those KDW's that someone mentioned--anyone else??

Or else just go with two, put them on the front, and keep the others on the rear--tread is marginal in places. But it's dry here, and we won't get rain for months probably.

I did check tire rack, but by the time I get them here and get them put on, the 165 I've been quoted isn't bad--that's with the balancing, stems, tax, etc. all included.

We've got Bridgestone Potenza RE-750's on both our Stangs - and lovin them. Great wet or dry traction, no noise, great look, excellent wear...not exactly cheap, but, in tires, you really get what you pay for.

you get what you payfor when it comes to tires. right now ive been using fusion RZ and they are allright.

for daily driving i was very happy with dayton daytonas zr's when i had those on my other car. 30,000 miles is pretty good considering what your driving habits may be.

*and there is no problem if you do two tires now and two tires later. just make sure its either fronts or rears

I had Kumhos on my IROC that I was really happy with...but kiss them goodbye 10-15k miles later. I bought my Mustang about two months ago, and it had brand spankin' new BFG G-forces on them.

They are awesome.

Really.

My IROC was lower and wider, but my Mustang handles way better. Granted, that could be a suspension deal too - but the suspension on my Camaro was only a few years old (similar to OEM though).

If you want cheaper tires there are other alternatives, yokohama avs es 1000's are a great tires for the money, as well as the kumo's you can get them for around 100 bucks a piece...

Someone mentioned the Fuzions to me, too, but the person who posted about them here seems lukewarm.

How about Toyo Proxes 4 zr 99w?

They're about a hundred bucks a set cheaper than the Eagles.

The basic story I got from one tire store is--you only buy the Eagles if you're into having the thing as factory. Otherwise, there are other good choices--Eagle F1s, but expensive, the Toyos, the Goodrich g-force KDW.

One more thing--which KDW?? There seems to be an "s" model.

Falken Ziex ZE-512s are rated number ONE by Consumer Reports and cost $99 each for the stock size from tires.com

I have them and I like them a lot.

BFG has 3 lines of the g force tires, the KD is dry only, KDW is dry and wet, and the KDWS which is an all season dry,wet,mud+snow. Most people get the KDW tires, unless you need an all season tire. Toyos are ok, you rshould read up on www.tirerack.com lots and lots of customer reviews and you can complare lots of tires on there.

Check out Toyo T1-S. I'm running them and couldn't be happier. They are great rain tires and sticky on dry too! They are less than $150 with onlinetires.com (245/45/17's). They do have only a 280 tread wear, I'm hoping to get a least 12-15K out of them before they wear out.

That's what I bought for mine. They're a good looking tire. I can't wait to see how they handle.

ill also recommend Sumitomo HTR+, there a High Performance All Season with a tread patter that allows for proper rotation. GREAT tires. ive had 2 sets, one on my previous civic, and my sister has a set on her V6 w/ 17's. they handle great, are quiet, are of great quality and can be had for around $108 in 245/45-17
