Tire Advice

So I got my Bilstiens and H&R springs in, it was not hard....except you gotta put that lower isolator in.....big DUH move! The car handles great!!!! And the stance is a lot nicer!

So now I have to replace my very worn Falken tires. I do not want to spend an arm and a leg as it is an everyday car. But I do want something that handles as I drive like the car should be driven, especially now with the new suspension.

What are your suggestions?

I want to stay under $150 a tire if possible, but I do not want some crappy handling tire. I will stay 245/45/17

I'm running the BFG g-force tires although they are 275's.
They are a very stout feeling tire with out much sidewall flex. and handle
like a dream. I had ran 2 sets of Kumho 712's before, which arn't bad for the money but the g-force are a step up.

I know you want to stay w/ the 245's, but look into running a 275 in the rear. Little more rubber will last longer. If not, the 245's still kick butt.

They also work great in rain and hard cornering, very predictable at the limit.

Those tires Ricky Bobby linked are great tires however you should note that they are not for use in even light snow or any type of icy conditions. They will be absolutely worthless in the snow.

They are great summer performance tires though

I have 245/45/17 Dunlop SP sport FM901's. They're awesome dry, but nearly scary in the wet. With my automatic, just the normal 1-2 shift will kick the back end out a bit and make the TC come in. What about BFGoodrich KDW2?

I agree, that's a good choice for the price - the wider the better

With that in mind, I suggest BFG KDW's. I just put them on tonight and yeah, worth every penny. I did tires and rims, mounted and balanced. Good price too. From buy wheelstoday.com. I called and the guy helped me with size info. I emailed for a shipping number and had a reply within 5 minutes. So happy with the purchase and customer service.

As you can see the Fuzion's needed replaced. They were cheap and good tires but you get what you pay for and the BFG's are noticeably better.

i've got fuzions on my car as well (255/45 17) and they're decent. nothing spectacular but never had any issues with them. for $104 a tire i'd buy 'em again



BTW, how's the ride with the new hardware? i'm thinking about the h&r/bils setup on my car

I'm doing the same setup. How is the handling in comparison with the stock setup? Oh, and go with the KDW's, or, if you're going to be running your stock rims/tires in the winter, like I am, you could go with those Kumho's.

I recommend the Nitto NT555, mine lasted a very long time, ~40K miles, and now they are in need of replacement. I'm thinking of going with the same, just contemplating a 255/45 instead mainly to slightly bump gas mileage.

this is what i run on my gt goodyear eagle zr gatorbacks 245/45/zr17 and there 166 per tire at wally world...... NYSP thruway camaros, and the old NYSP lx mustangs run with them so they must be good...they wear good, smoke good and are not yearly replaced tires. i learned my tire lessons from my driving from Ft Hood TEXAS to NY and back, u wouldnt believe how fast the soft compund tires wear right out from a few 4000 mile round trips a year out u can easily get over 25-30000 miles out of these!

I'm thrifty like that. I had to save up some $. It was pretty fun sliding around any corner at the blip of the throttle. Then when it rained it was a bit crazy, but it all worked out for the best. New rims and BFG's worth every penny.

+1 for the Khumo's that is a good tire for the $$. KDWs are sweet but will run a lil more
