Tire Fitment and Air Bag/Eibach Drag Launch Kit Questions

I just purchased a set of M/T ET Street Radials (275/50R15) for my 87 GT and will combine the tires with a set of Draglites with a 5.5 Backspacing. Through some searching on other threads it seems alot of guys are running/recomend running air bags with this size of a tire. My car primarily sees street time only, maybe the stip once or twice a year but it will be cruising around with the slicks on once in awhile if possible. Whats involved with running air bags? Is it really nesasary, and what kind of issues am I going to be facing with this size of tire? (rubbing etc.)
I was also considering purchasing the Eibach Drag Launch Kit which contains springs and air bags.....Has anyone any experience with the Eibach kit? Not that it matters much but are they really harsh on the street? Would it work alright to just put air bags in the stock springs?

with the 5.5backspacing on the draglite, the 275/50s will rub on the quads. You can flip it around or remove it if its bad. If you have some aftermarket Control arms you dont need em. My friend had draglites with 5.5 BS and 275/50 BFGs, he removed his quads (has control arms so its all good.) ha also had to beat the frame a bit and i think. wasnt too bad, i think all you will need to adress is the quadshock situation.

and about the drag springs, lol the same guy has em too.
I personally loved them when i rode in the car with him, i liked the way it felt. The front end is super light and soft and comes up real high real easy, even under moderate throttle on the street. It doenst make the ride rough, i mean if you can deal with a foxbody, which are fairly stiff and rough as it is, the drag springs wont pose a problem. You can really feel the better weight transfer. There is an airbag for the right side...I guess it keeps the car flat since the car will torque will pull right. He ran at the track, with the LCAs and the eiback drag spring, he busted 1.7s all day long. I plan to buy a set. i also hear that they lower the car some, not sure on that. I always want springs to make it look cooler but didnt want to hurt traction by reducing weight transfer.

Thanx For the info! My quad shocks are removed and I do have good aftermarket control arms. I'm also running Stange Adjustable Struts And Shocks so the Eibach springs sounds like they may be a good addition to my combo. The only concern I have with the Springs is I dont really want my ride height to change to much and your saying that they possibly do??? As for the slicks will I have to bend the rear quarter lip at all or just do some pounding to the inner quaters?

The eibach drag launch kit does not lower the car at all. I have some in the front, and it didnt lower the car at all. But it made it hook a lot better. I am putting a airbag in the passenger side rear spring. I have stock springs in the back. The springs in the back I heard were really good stock. Also I was wondering how much air to put in the bag my self?

thanks for confirming on the ride height, i wasnt sure, u heard they do and heard they dont. wasnt too sure, i didnt want to lead anyone in the wrong way

Yeah a lot of people cut a coil and it looks really good. But in my opinion I dont like to do that because then it messes with the spring rate.
