What is the best to get. I'm getting sick of it.
1. SCE Pro Copper
2. Percy's Seal 4 Good (Aluminum)
3. Mr. Gasket Copperseal
4.Flatout Gaskets Copper

Thanks for your opinions.

Are your header bolts backing out (even the slightest bit) and causing the blown header gaskets? Any of the name brand copper/ aluminum ones should be fine.

I'm pretty sure i have a blown header gasket now too...Lame! I was wondering what brands were the best too? The ones on there are just the felpro's that came with the engine gasket kit. Are there any better gaskets out there or is are they all the same. oh yea...would i feel a noticable loss in power b/c of that or is it just me? thanks

I've never had alot of luck getting the bolts to stick down. If I were you I would switch to locking screws.

What do u guys normally do when you install em...I set em in and tightened from the inside out, used loctite, torqued em to stock specs and retorqued em after the first couple runs? what else can you do? How much are for a set of locking bolts...So sick of hearing that pitter patter!

there are stage 8 locking bolts. they run around $40. depending your headers, they may or may not "lock." i have equal length 1 5/8 tubes, and i can't use the locking part of the setup. kind of a waste of money, but they haven't backed out yet. (knock on wood) there is another kind that summit list. it has a setscrew that goes down the center of the bolt, and spreads the end of it out so it takes up space inside the head. dunno any one who has used it, so i can't comment on 'em.

I have header studs. They make it a real bitch to get the headers on if you dont drop the H-pipe but so far they have stayed tight and I havn't blown a header gasket since.

My JBA shorties came with a set of header bolts with special lock washers. Those and FlowTech Real-Seal aluminum exhaust header gaskets 99253FLT trimmed to fit. No leaks or issues here so far.
