Ok Stangnet gurus. I am about to change the fluid in my liberty built TKO600. I've read that gm synchromesh part number 12345349 or a Dextron II fluid is needed. My question is are there any BETTER fluids recommended or are these the go too fluids for the TKO's? Also are there any suppliers that carry it other than online.

Any input from TR3550/TKO owners is welcome!

I would stick with the GM synchromesh fluid. The trans will shift better than with the Dextron II fluid and the blocking rings last longer/dont stick. Any GM dealer will stock the Synchromesh fluid. About $8+ per qrt. Need about 3 qrts.

I went with Royal Purple Syncro mesh compatible fluid in mine. Shifts good.

Did you run the GM prior? If so any difference?

No sure didn't. Pulled it out of the box and filled it up with the RP. It was cheaper from AM then the Syncromesh from the local dealer was, so I went with it.
