I got the fuel pressure gauge installed and checked it. I have 24# squirters with all bolt on mods and H/C/I with a adjustable fuel reg, and a 255 pump. I dont have any emisions stuff or cats. I checked the pressure and i'm running at 52 PSI or so with the vac line on, and about 57.5 PSI with the vac line off. Does this sound right because of the 24's or not? I installed the gauge where the schrader valve goes. peace

That is a lot of fuel pressure. I have a slightly less agressive combo than you and am running 42psi with vacuum. Stock pressure is 39psi with vacuum. With correct sized injectors, you should be able to basically run stock fuel pressure. If I were you, I would turn the fuel pressure down to about 41psi with vacuum, get a wideband on the car and do some tuning. Do you know if the chip you had was burned with that fuel pressure setting in mind?

I answered that question for you in a PM not but just a couple days ago.

Thats why it pi$$es me of when you come on here and say we wont tell you stuff, WE DO AND YOU DONT LISTEN!!!! Just like plug type and gap. :bang: :bang:

I give up- anyone else wanna try to help him? Have fun!
Maybe Summits tech guy could help you out?

So when was the last time you told me the plug gap for running nitrous? I beleve when i asked that question i was told "thats a trade secret thats what i get paid to do bring it in and we'll tune it" or something to that effect. As far as this post i was wanting to know if it was diffrent pressure with the 24's versus the 19's? Yes you did tell me 40ish or so in our P.M but i didnt know you knew i had 24's? thanks jeff peace

Wasnt the chip burned with the 24's and no FPR? If there was no FPR that is WHY the chip was burned- and if there was a FPR then there would have been no need for it.

Start from scratch, take out the chip- adjust the fuel pressure to the spec I gave you, and see what the wideband says. You can make all the adjustment you need with timing and FP now. The chip was likely a bandaid for the FPR.

And to clairify, the reason you were told that was BECAUSE the advise was offered before and you didnt listen. There is a point when you just have to give up. I guess its true, you cant save them all.

Not! no since in argueing over that and this. Since i got the gauge then i'll prob swing in the next week or so to do the wide band. peace

Damn i didnt see this post? I can answer some of this. The chip was burned WITH the FPR! But not sure about the 24's? That is why i posted about the purpose of the chip way way back when. peace

I have a ? on fuel pressure when running the stock computer.

I read in MM&FF or 5.0 that the adjustable fuel press regulator really does not work, they said that it will work for a short time (Like adjusting on a dyno) then over the course of a few days the computer will adapt to the higher or lower pressure and everything will be the same again. So if you are a little lean and richen it up and go back and test a week later it will be back to what it was.

Then on the other hand you always read in the mags where they install an adjustable regulator and then mess aroung with pressures. ?? They contradict themselves!!

So do tweaks really last? Does the computer not ever adjust for say a higher pressure??

without getting into the technical side of it too much, a regulator will HELP the computer get the proper air/fuel. If your target is outside of the pcm's idea of what is right, it will try to adjust. Regualtors are important tuning devices for N/A cars.

Thanks for pointing those out to me. I posted in here and there to see who gave the best responce. Second the old one i responded to about the 95 was once again running 19's not 24's! but thanks jon. peace
