As I was working on sally's 40 y/o saggy front end this morning the thought occured to me that while I've got her apart, maybe I should weld my export brace in. I have heard that some have done this.........what dy'all think?

Unless there is a structural problem, I don't see any reason to weld. Bolts work fine and you never know what could happen in the future that may require you to remove it.

Count me in with the "Don't weld it" crowd. While I like to burn rod (or wire) as much as the next 27 guys; making the shock towers and export brace into one solid unit is really gonna cramp your style when you decide to thumb your nose at the Ay-rabs and stuff a Windsor into the space left by your (departed) six-in-a-row.

And don't tell me that you aren't thinking of that while you're putting all those V8 chassis components in......

First, I am not "ggeeky" - there's only one "g" - Sheese!

Meanwhile - Okay! Go ahead and weld the steenkin' export brace in there! When you get that Aussie "divorced" head/intake; just upload pictures of you trying to plop it on in place of the old head!
