Today, I join the N/A 12 sec club

someone let him borrow a set of thumpers so onebad has to run down the 1/8th in his boxers!!! j/k bro.....

....but no doubt those are crazy numbers....its gotta be the diet your car went on or something cuz plenty of guys who are running H/C/I dont run that fast....im impressed....and it does not surprize me that your car is yellow....i say gun for the 11's NA forget nitrous for now build up a nice solid H/C/I setup and dig for the 11's....Paul is nearly there with his heavy very and your GTS weighs hundreds less than his vert....

:hail2: wow, 105 is an amazing mph, where did you buy those tires i have been looking for them seens you posted about the frist time, also how much do they cost, i thing i might get a set and after long tube's and a tq arm suppension i want to try to hit 13's (which will never happen) but it's a goal

I'm impressed. It takes a lot to impress me, and you have done it.

Don't retire the car. There is still a few tenths and/or hundreths left in the short time. You could pull high 7's with a little more practice. Keep up the good work.

I am a little nervous since this is my daily driver and only car. driving like I did that pass will take its toll on stuff.

pretty much just retiring from track duty for now until it gets heads.

I doubt I will be able to afford AFRs for a few years, but I am looking into building some Ps an AFM cam and some big and littles. Maybe beefier rear incase I have problems with the Tlok

That's awesome!!! I'm so glad someone (on here) finally got it done, I knew it was possible but I tried to stay out of all the arguments

IIRC, Bob Cosby ran 11s in a ported stock headed LX back in the 90s, so I figured a second slower than that should be no problem. Hell, 270hp Hondas can run 10s, it's all about weight and/or torque.

Congratufriggenlations!!!!

Yeah, that thread got my blood boiling to the point that I was just about to post on here with this idea:

I will buy some Thumpers, put them on my 196K mile shortblock with a cam of my choice and intake of my choice and run 12s, in a convertable no less. The only catch is that I wanted some people to put their money where their mouth was and get some people to commit to paying for whatever loss I took when I sold them if I ran 12s. Otherwise all the cost would come out of my pocket.

I guess technically nobody has run 12s yet with Thumpers, but I don't think as many people think as strongly as they used to about E7s in an SN95. I was willing to take a $600 risk to prove some people wrong :)

I figured it would just get locked or alot flaming would go on so I never brought it up.

Not to be a dick, but most peoples claims were that it could not be done with a stock short block. Whether your do have a 302 or not, is unclear. I know you say IT IS a 302, but your aim screen name (little yellow 306) makes me wonder. Even though you did give me a reason for it, i just dont think it makes sense.

But again, even with a 306/308 + e7's is pretty damn impressive. I give you mad props for doing it. I still wanna see the timeslip though, post her up!

the argument wasnt stock block... many doubted ported e7s would go 12s let alone stock heads.

I have a 302 with flycut pistons my compression is a tad lower than stock, so I am actually behind a tad

some said I it would take slicks and skinnies and drag rims and some a 3000 race weight.

some told me anyone who has stock heads isnt serious about racing

Ed curtis said I should "get a hint" about going 12s

alot of things were said that I will never forget and made me want to get 12s even more.
