Tokico Ilummina's or D-Spec's?

What do you guys think? Which setup do you think I should go for. I want to combine one of these setups with H&R Supersport Springs. I can get the Ilumina's for $550 and the D-Spec's for $520. Any suggestions?

That is a no brainer! Go with the D-Specs hands down. I have them with my H&R SS and the ride is great. The adjustability is also so much better than the iluminas.
If you do go w/ Illumas you can get a better price than $550 that pretty high. $425 is what prices I was finding.
My D-Specs were $525 and I purchased EVERYthing from www.stangsuspension.com GREAT customer service and fast shipping.
Make sure you have 4-bolt CC plates Steeda or MM plates would work best since you need to be able to adjust the strut hieght with the D-specs

Hard for me to say which is better because I have only had the Tokico's but I have to say that I have been really impressed with them. My car handles like it is on rails (not only because of shocks of course) but they help a lot. Setting 1 (least stiff setting) is pretty crappy IMO. Settings 3-5 are just perfect. My 2 centz.

Setting 1 is for drag launches on the front to help weight transfer, not meant for street driving

5-ways rule I love mine, ride is harsh at the stiffest setting but I like...I refuse to have nose dive or body roll.

go with the D-specs they are 7 way adjustable so you can go a bit more firmer than teh 5-ways

They are actually infinatly adjustable. You can set them at any setting between there firmest and softest setting.
Pretty cool!

go with the dspec. if I'm not mistaken, it has an in-car control setup? you can change the settings via a button mounted in your car. or I might be thinking of something else.

You have a little "Adjustment Tool" that fits on your keychain and is inserted into the top of the strut/shock and you screw it clockwise/counterclockwise to adjust the shock/strut

Sorry, my brain was not working yesterday when I posted in this thread. Anyway, I was trying to say that I have the Illuminas and like them but I think it is time for some new ones just cause they are 4 years old. I will look into the D-Specs. It has been a while since I went shock shopping. Mine have a notch on the top that you can turn to adjust firmness between (settings) 1-5.

So, what is the difference between the two? Just two more settings?

Will you really *adjust* them that often, and how much of an improvement would you get over a monotube like a Bilstein?

IMO the only adjustable worth a damn for a layman is a Koni. And even then, only a "true" road race car really needs them.

You assume just like I do about this crap, no one ever states what they really want out of their car, drag or carvin' specific. I always steer tward handling insted of dragging.

Most of them though want something to take turns on rails and pull some better times at the 1/4mi
