Why do my Tokiko struts and shocks have Motorcraft stickers on the box. And why do they have Ford engraved on them. I ordered these from GEF under the assumption I was getting real Tokikos. Are these knocks-offs? Cus I did not pay all that money for knock-offs. The only part that says tokiko ANYWHERE is a sticker wrapped around each strut/shock

I specifically asked for the Mach 1 shocks and struts. What I got have Motorcraft on the box and a tokico sticker around them. If they are tokicos, then why are they branded Ford Motorsports

That's fairly common w/Ford and nothing to worry about. A lot of FRPP stuff is made by other companies for Ford. They're not knock-offs, but rather items tailor-made for that particular car.

Actually, a lot of stuff on the Mustang *stock* is the same. Arvin-Meritor makes the stock exhaust, Valeo makes the clutch, Bosch makes the traction control system, etc.

My understanding on the mach 1 (also the bullits) was that ford had tokico make specially valved shocks and struts. So even though they are labeled Ford they were still made by Tokico.

Thats how mine were. They are Tokicos made specifically for Ford for either the Mach I or the Bullit. Therefore, since they are replacement parts they will be in a Ford box. BTW, mine have been great so far.

It's normal. Tokico does not sell the Mach 1 or Bullitt shocks/struts through their normal aftermarket distribution channels. The only place you can get them is through Ford service or other ford service parts authorized dealer. They will be in a Ford bax with a ford part number just like any other ford service part. Don't worry, you got the correct shocks.

Exactly ... The same is also true for the shocks/ struts on the Cobra that are made by Bilstein.
