Both of you huys have replaced your blinker switch in the steering column with the dealer part to solve the twice as fast blinker issue. How hard was it? Did you have to pull the column or steering wheel? De-activate the airbag? Any advice or details would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Matt.

IIRC, the steering wheel stays on (if 99+ are the same as SN-95s), but the ignition cylinder and the surrounding trim pieces come off.

its really simple. go to ford, and pick up the part (costs like $60 lol)... disconnect the negative battery terminal, and then all you need to do is use a philips screw driver to remove the plastic cover around the column, and then unscrew the blinker from the column. Replace it with the new one, hook up the plugs and put the plastic parts back on.

dont you just replace the headlight/taillight bulb to fix the quick blinker. My left side blinks twice as fast as my right and I thought it was just a bulb that is dying on me. So do I have to replace the bulb or pick up this part you guys speak of?

It could be a bulb, that's definitely the easier thing to check. If not the bulb, then it's the switch.
