the problem with the borders: you stop ****ing around and built the great wall of the Goddanm United States. then start to check everyone, if your not legal your gone.

i completely agree. a wall so tall an adult giraffe wouldn't be able to look over! the problem is that none of these people that are jumping the border are legal, if they were they wouldn't be sneaking in. this is an issue that alot of sh-t was stirred up in the press about but in true US fashion nothing was done about it. i dont know, i guess i'm tired of reading the paper and seeing people who are in this country illegally, who snuck in, kill innocent people, whether its from the gangbanging bull*****, driving drunk, raping women. enough is enough. not too mention, how many more people can this country actually handle?

For the first part of the American Revolution, the American rebels were getting their asses handed to them by the British. A sympathetic France, although with plenty of problems of their own, decided to pitch in and help out the struggling new nation. With France's help, the United States was able to become a free and democratic nation. As for France, all hell broke loose, the nation was in major debt and the French Revolution soon wroght havoc all around the country.

Fast forward to the early 20th century when the United States entered WWI and WWII, repaying the favor to France not just once, but twice.

I'm not saying that sometime in the future, Iraq is going to bail us out of any major conflicts, but I believe that having one more friendly, stable state in the Middle East would benefit us.

And Donkey Punch, nobody is calling you a liberal. Just because liberals generally support a viewpoint that you support, doesn't mean that you are a liberal. There's a lot more that goes into that classification that just the conflict in Iraq.

I think it would be fantastic if a legitimate democratic government came out of Iraq.

The region itself however...may have different things in mind

I don't enjoy talking politics or religion because as always, someone is going to get offended. But look at the main reason we're in the middle east right now: OIL. They have it, we need it. Sure, the 9/11 attacks and the war on terror are motivating factors as well, but if the Middle East didn't possess the vast oil resources that it does, we wouldn't have dumped such a ridiculous amount of time and money and American soldier's lives into this *****hole of an area.

And you have a problem with this?

If you want to beat an enemy, you have to cripple his ability to make war. Where do you think most terrorist organizations get their money? Bakesales?

Like I said, though, Iraq isn't the only one we should be seizing oil from. Several other countries, including Saudi, allow their residents to supply finances to terrorist groups without consequence. Any country that allows this is NOT a friend to us.

So in short, war for oil IS NOT a bad thing. I find it laughable that some people see such an important strategy as greed.

As for the original topic:

This deserves a

And for the other BS in here:

I have a diffrent opinion on Iraq and the B.A. than any mentioned here. But we're all entitled to our own. This place isn't where it needs to be talked about, so I won't even express what I feel on this subject. I do know that the majority of America is blind to some things (for a reason). If you're a Soldier, Marine, or Airman that has been to Iraq recently then you probably know where I'm coming from. The only thing that I'd mention ..... regardless of what "opinion" you have ..... I hope no one takes things out on our military. Don't blame us. We're just volunteers .... that were volunteered.
