As you guys can tell, I don't have that canister thing under there. I know some of the guys have taken it off, but I just can't get rid of exhaust fumes and gas fume smell out of my car. Could this be the whole reason? All those lines you see in the 3rd pic have been cut off and just hang there. What are they for?

And what is this thing in my driver's side.

Your charcoal canister is the box in the second pic. Right under your antenna.

You said that it was causing a gas fume smell right? so I need to take it out and cut it open or is there another way?

Last comment it right.... The box has a line coming from the tank. It's a metal tube, that changes to a rubber hose. Goes to the Charcoal canister then to the solenoid under the hood you say you are missing.

Another hose will run under the frame rail about where a factory air filter will be. It makes a 90* turn towards the engine compartment. That is where MINE poured fumes out.

My charcoal box was filled to the brim and over flowing. I'm guessing the solenoid wasn't doing it's job and venting back into the intake. So I took the chacoal box out and capped the line coming from the tank. Removed the solenoid and the line going to the bottom of the intake and capped it there. Guess this has already been done.

The stuff in your pic #3 I still have. Only one line runs to the vaccum tree on the intake where your fuel reg. line hooks on. The other two were for the smog/EGR... all removed/capped off.

Posted before I could finish. Check your overflow for the charcoal box..... see if it's damp with fuel. It will be a hose/tube going to the front of the car. If you are under the car you will see it. Stops aprox. where the factory air filter should be.

Well then, I guess I can take all that crap out (3rd pic) as well, cause i don't have one line running to the fuel reg. line cause i did the 93 TB conversion. I gues I'll just take all that cc crap out as well and see if that cures my gas smell problem. You haven't had any problems besides that WOOOOOOOSSSSSSHHHH, right? how long has it been since you took it all off?

Trip to OKC and back, club Power Tour, daily drive to work for a couple months.

BTW - I removed mine, so I could put it back on if I needed to. I capped the line going to the bottom of the intake. After I deemed all was well, no CEL light, no codes, no driving issues.... and when I had to replace my cracked lower intake. I went ahead and removed that final line.

I can put it all back on in a matter of an hour.

If you had wanted to keep the Charcoal cannister, look for cracked hoses on top of the canister. You said you dont have a purge solenoid. Did someone just connnect those two hoses together? If it's open anywhere, that can cause fuel smell.

In the other post, I believe we determined he's trying to get rid of exhaust gas smells.... totally different animal.

the three lines you are talking about that are disconnected two of them are the vacuum lines going to the evr (egr vacuum solenoid) and the other one is exiting the evr solenoid and is connected to the egr valve....i believe there are two red connecting into the evr and one green exiting the evr and runs up to the egr valve and thats where it connects.....where is your egr getting its vacuum from???? because the two red lines feed vacuum into the evr solenoid and the evr solenoid regulates the vacuum that is sent to the egr....

Sorry for the delay. As to the red line in the blurry pic, well, it's gone. It was hooked up to the vaccuum on the intake elbow but since I did the 93 tb swap, I got rid of it. I also have no smog at all. I replaced that egr spacer with the delete plate so all the 3 red lines are cut under the fenderwell.
