Is anyone familiar with the proper tool and its source for installing the 5/16" rivets which retain the clutch release bracket from CJ's Pony Parts to the bell housing?

When I swapped my bracket to a scattershield, I used similar bolts and nuts on the outside of the bell. The nuts clear the tranny.

Of course that may not work on a stock type bell . . . .

Thanks for the input, but in this particular case, I am looking for a stock restoration.

There is a tool for an air hammer ,it is a straight shaft with a dimple in the end to form the rivet head .Kind of hard to use and keep the rivet tight . You can make one from an old chisel by cutting the end off and drilling a dimple in the end . Place a nut or something under the back side of the rivet and hold it to the concrete floor or a metal bench to keep it from pushing back . If your rivet is to long it will be hard to mushroom over ,only let about 3/16 -1/4 inch of the rivet stick through the hole in the fulcrum . You could also use a hammer and a metal drift just don't miss and hit your knuckles ,It really doesn't feel good

If you have a Snap-on or Mack tools truck nearby they will probably have the tool for the air hammer .

Okay I see, cut the tool end off with the cutoff tool, then stick it in the drill-press.
