top harness and voltage regulator questions

I have two electrical questions. First, I bought a new convertible top wiring harness from mustangs unlimited and it came with what looks like a voltage regulator on the end that terminates at the starter solenoid. It is not on my wiring diagram and I do not know what it is or what it is for. My wiring diagram shows this end running to a junction that is on the fender then to the starter solenoid. Has anybody else replaced their harness and did it come with one of these "voltage regulators". Should I wire it up the old way with just the junction or does this replace the junction?

Second question. I also bought a painless wiring harness. There is a yellow wire running from the voltage regulator that the painless wiring diagram says runs to a noise capacitor. I cant find the noise capacitor in any of the parts catalogs. Does any one know where to get one and what it looks like. A picture of one might help me out.

It's a circuit breaker. Self reseting. If you hold the power top switch down with the top fully open or closed, the circuit breaker will eventually trip. It protects the power top motor from overheating and failing.
 
Can't tell what year car you have, but I'm not aware of any fusable links on the early classics. Maybe someone added one to the car cause they couldn't find the stock circuit breaker. You can use a fusable link, the circuit breaker is period correct for a restoration.

I come accross the noise capacitor on restorations ocassionaly. Don't see one on CJPony parts. You don't need it for the car to run, won't cause you any problems. If you put a stock radio in you might get some noise on it, but the modern CD decks and such have line filters built in. You should not hear any noise. It was probably more noticable on the AM band.
