I've heard of topping a coat of Meguiar's NXT wax with a carnauba wax. NXT on my yellow has done more than any other product I've used, including Zaino, would topping it make it even better? Which wax would you recommend?

I used Gold Class last time I tooped it, but it was on my E-Green, so it probably had a diff effect than on yellow. I just use GC now since it's reformulated. lots of discussions on this at meguiarsonline.com....

Have you tried Poorboy's World Natty's blue? It is very popular amond all of their other products on the professional detailing forums.

I haven't tried the poorboy's. I thought the blue was for darker colors, or so they said.

I have multiple layers of the blue on my yellow Saleen and it looks amazing. I have a detailing business and use the blue on about everything. I think it even gives white a lot more of a pop. The blue has an extra ingredient for darker colored cars.

Oh cool. I might give that a shot, I like the protection of the NXT and after looking at your Saleen pictures I might have to try some of the Poorboy's.

Those pictures don't even do the car justice. I have a few more layers of Natty's on after those pics were taken. Yellow is really hard to get a good picture of. My buddy also uses it on his yellow Mach.

BTW- 4point6- I sent you a pm.

Thanks. And I agree 100%, yellow is a pain for pictures.

Here are some recent pics but the lighting isn't too good. In the next couple of weeks I'm going to get some pics taken by the lake.

Damn that's a beautiful car. For being yellow, you get some good reflections out of it, very nice.

It's not about what wax or sealant you use it's the prep that makes the difference. If the cars paint is preped right anything will look good. Remove the swirls polish the paint then put your last step product i.e wax or sealant. Light colors are hard to get depth and wetness out of. Prep > product thats what it's going to take.

As far as prep, I claybarred it about a month ago and the paint was darn near perfect after it. Threw on some NXT and hasn't seen rain since. I just think a carnauba could make it wetter looking than the sealant which tends to give it a plastic look IMO, plus I'd still have the protection of the sealant.

I would still go back in polish the car to give the optimum shine and depth. Like Wystang said, it is the prep what makes the difference. After the polish, top it with a sealant and then the carnuba wax. You could also skip the sealant just goto the wax.

I claybar'd my car and then did the Meguiar's 3 step. Came out real nice.
