Torgue Converter questions..

How is the best way to tell if you have a stall T/C?
Is there a way from under the car I can look at?

I just got my 97 GT last sept. and I have a freind that as a 02 GT auto. And my car launches alot better than his.
We both have o/r h's and 4.10's. I know my car has a shiftkit/j-mod, thats very obvious. Im just wondering if the previous owner might of done a stall T/C also.

My car will roll at an idle, but it seems like I get alot of power all at once around 3K.

Keith....:flag:

Can a mod fix my title plz....Torque....not Torgue, my bad

The easiest way to determine the flash stall of your torque converter is to place the car in 2nd gear and from a stand still put the pedal to the medal. Your car will flash to the approximate stall speed of your TC, you should be watching your tach. This agrees with the first reply you got.

There is no real way to tell by looking at the TC what it's stall speed is unless you plan to cut that TC open. You might be able to tell if you have an after market TC by the external colour of the TC but that requires a lot of work to check out the TC.
