What do i set the rocker studs at? it says 55 lbs of torque, but that seems very high.

55 ft/lbs is fine. You want them tight, you don't want them comming loose!

I was told at first to tighten them down as much as I could, then I was told at 15lbs, then 25lbs, and now you're sayin 55lbs which one is it? Don't mean to be rude but I just need a straight answer.

Just for you

I looked in the OFFICIAL Ford 1995 Mustang Service Manual

It reads just like this for Cobra

Tighten to 24-34 N-m (18-25 Lb-Ft)

Thank you Grady, I knew you wouldn't let me down. You're sticking to what you stated in your sig.

The rocker studs on stud mounted heads are what we're talking about, correct? If so, 55 ft/lbs is what it needs for a 3/8" stud. Im not sure if a 7/16" is more.

Now if you're talking about torquing pedistal mount rockers, I have no idea.

Straight from afr's site: Rocker Stud Torque 55-60 ft. lbs

Rocker Pedestal Torque 25-30 ft lbs

Wait just a min

Mike is making the most sense here

Lets be sure we are all on the same page here!

It may be we got studs AND peds we are dealing with in this thread.

I may of spoken out of turn

I was talking about oem gt40 ped rr's.

I see in Guero's sig he is gonna be installing TFS heads. He also asked about rocker studs. 55lbs don't sound all that bad and considering what Mike said, I'd follow his thunder if you are talking about the stud for the rocker.

Hope I did not confuse anybody

Grady
