Pacific NW End of Summer Dyno Event Results

Okay, so we thought that if we got through 50 cars on the dyno, this event would be huge. 70 cars is what we were targeting for an absolute limit. But people kept pouring in and we decided to keep the rollers turning from 9am-7pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Final tally? 100 cars!!!!!

Here are some quick stats:

500-600 spectators throughout the weekend
100 cars on the dyno
1072whp record set
1105wtq record set
375 free hamburgers given out
200 free hot dogs given out
16 very tired TorqueFreaks and HorsepowerFreaks employees

We'd like to thank all those who came down to our shop. We must have had half of the local car nuts here at one time or another We will be doing similar events 1-2 times per year, so stay tuned for the next one!

Here are the results, in order of horsepower:

Here are some pictures of the event:

Thanks again to everyone who made it. We'll see you again at the next one

As always, you guys laid down the law. It's kind of nice to see two domestics taking 1st and 2nd place. We're so used to seeing the Supras take the top few places around here Most people commented that either the Nova, AFP's race car, or Lars' Camaro was their favorite car of the event. Where's the love for all the imports?

Thanks again to all who made it out. We'll do another one later this year, time permitting.

We can't make fun of imports too much. 6 out of the top 10 were inports.

Pfft, mostly dyno queens!!! For example, how many imports are in the top 10 at any given NHRA event at PIR?

that should be fixed at the next event

besides when you've got the top 3 wrapped up who really cars about 4-10

Edit: Sean, one thing that I think would be really cool is if you could put to gether some little prizes or trophys (maybe T-shirts?) for top finishers. Say top HP, Top TQ, Top HP 4-cyl, Top HP N/A, etc.

Just something to think about.

I actually had that all planned out but just before going public with the event, I decided to make it a Dyno Event and not a Dyno Challenge. I will try the Dyno Challenge next time with prizes for the winners in each category to see how it works. Maybe even have a Top Mustang category since quite a few of you tend to show up I might have to increase the rate of the dyno though...at $25/car, we didn't even break even for this event We'll see.... I should start planning the next event in November so I'll keep you posted.

cool deal.

I should be able to have the twins there for the next one...of course I though I would have them there for this one too but that didn't work either.
