what is the vehicle weight of a fully loaded 2002 GT with an automatic tranny?
my door tag says 4490lbs. but i know that is B.S. because i ran my car in the 1/4 track and i ran 2.15 60 foot time, 14.25 e.t. at 99.09mph.
the only mods i have are off road x-pipe and cat back.
all and any help would be appreciated. thanks

I got an 03 GT premium fully loaded and I checked in at the scales at 3891. Where did they get 4400? You sure that ain't gross weight? I got speakers and a band pass to add to the weight. You should be around 3800 to 3900 or even less.

MM&FF posted a shootout in their magazine for the 40TH ANN. GT, the Mach 1, and the Cobra in the April edition. They claim that the weight for the GT is 3,590 w/ driver. For some reason my car is heavier I guess. I had it weighed at the truck scales just out of curiosity. 3891... I don't understand...are my feet that heavy?!!

3800 sounds about 400 pounds too heavy. Were those truck scales for a weigh station cuz they might be set high.

I have a 5-speed so my post may be irrelevant to this thread....

but the first time I went to the dragstrip, my car weighed in at 3315lb with exactly a 1/4 tank of gas. This was totally stock with nothing taken out (even left the spare & jack in place). This to me, didn't look right. I've owned f-bodies in the past but never have I had a car to weigh that light. So I went up to a track crew member and asked if the scales are working correctly and he told me they were just fine. I dunno... people weighing their cars in at 3600+ just sounds a little high to me (stick or auto) so I would perhaps try it again and maybe somewhere else. Dragstrips supposedly have excellent scales.
