My girlfriend and I were coming home from church on Sunday afternoon when it happened. It was raining pretty steadily. Just about to cross over a bridge, going from a one lane onto a two lane. There is a one or two inch asphalt lip that you run up onto and I think the rear end hopped a bit and swung around. I countersteered to no avail. Did about two 360's while at the same time crossing the median. I saw a pickup truck traveling in the opposite direction...right in my out of control path. Our rear ends collided hard, swinging him around and popping me up onto a curb. Cracked the front wheel in half, destroyed the passenger side rear quarter and broke the gas tank filler tube releasing my 15 gallons of gas. None of us were hurt thank God. I don't know what to do now. I know the insurance company won't give me much on a 10 year old car and will probably hassle me if I ask for all my aftermarket parts. Anyone with experience in this?
Very sad to hear. Hope it turns out okay for you.
