So I decided to tow the Saleen down to FL behind a u-haul. Anyone else ever used one of U-haul's car carriers (all 4 wheels off the ground) to pull their Saleen? I wonder how bad the clearance is for those ramps? I know, it probably depends on how much my suspention has sagged, but I imagine I'm right at about stock height for an 03. Any experience / suggestions / recommendations? Thanks.

You have a couple of options...

If you have room for some lumber, you can bring a couple of 2x8's and use them as step-ramps. That will decrease the angle coming onto the trailer.

If you don't want to go that route, jack the front of the trailer as high as you can, which should lower the rear and the ramps to decrease the angle. Make sure you keep the trailer secured to the ball on the tow vehicle if you do this - otherwise you are going to be repairing a bunch of things... been there, seen that...

The other thing to watch, and I've never used a U-haul, is will the door clear the trailer fender? If not, you're gonna have fun getting out of the car or closing the window. Again, you can always use some lumber under the drivers side tires to tilt the car slightly and clear the fender.

On my enclosed trailer, I have 2x10 blocks screwed into the floor where the drivers side tires should stop. That picks that side of the car up just enough that I can open the door through the escape door in the side of the trailer.

I have rented one a bunch of times to when i moved from SD to NE to TX. I had a G35 coupe that sat probably as low as my saleen does. There was no chance that the car would come anywhere close to making it up the incline. What i did was drove to a parking lot that had a flat spot then a sharp but small incline, down to another flat parking spot. I backed in the trailer so the ramps were right on parallel with the upper flat stall and then it was cake to drive right onto the trailer. The door hitting is not a problem because the U hauls trailor hump over the wheels folds down so you can open the car door. It probably would be easier finding some inclined ramps, but i had no idea where to get them.

Spederman - always look forward to your responses, not for what you say, but for your avatar. Anyway, you think 3 2x10's nailed together in steps placed under the end of the ramp would decrease the angle enough? I guess the only way to know for sure is to go by uhaul and look at the angle and see how much I need to raise the ramps.
In any case, this might be a dead issue as I just put the speedster in the classifieds . I know, seems like I just got back...oh well there will be another...yes, there will be another
