- Yes, it is unbelievable. The Camry has become the modern day Chevy Impala or Ford Crown Vic. They literally sell a half million per year.
- If there is any silver-lining, aren't half of Toyota's sales attributed to SUVs and pickups that are basically rebadged Ford Expeditions and F150s? And I guess its worth noting that most Toyotas are made by Americans in America (unlike many so-called American cars that are made overseas).
- But now with Toyota winning the NASCAR truck series and set to compete in NASCAR's premier Nextel Cup Series next year, Toyota is becoming as American as baseball and apple pie.
- Ko nee chee wa - ko cha ee ma ee su; arigato ko cha ee ma ee su! Perhaps we oughtta learn at least as much Japanese as they learn English.

Guy #1 - Dammit - Those damn Ethiopians and their foreign cars are driving our beloved American Toyotas out of the market...How can we allow this to happen???

Guy #2 - Who cares - I don't have time to talk about it. I'm only at 72 hours this week at Wal-Mart and I have another 20 hrs to go!

I'm not suprised at all. I work on fords everyday, yet I bought a tundra brand new last year over a ford. I love mustangs but ford builds some very poorly designed and low quality vehicles.

Toyota is the #1 seller of cars right now. Thier cars are more US made than Fords and many GM's. Outsourcing that the big three has done to get cheaper labor, only resulted in "cheaper" cars, but yet the Toyota's are still less expensive, especially when you take longevity and quality into prespective.

Toyota has a very nice plant on KY which was very impressive to say the least when I visited. I have been in a few Ford plants, GM and Nissan and the Toyota by far was the most impressive. You could eat off the floor, and the workers looked very happy.

The Ford KY Truck plant was my favorite, right up with the Mustang plant in Flat Rock :nice:

The Huge mistake Toyota is making right now is just having its sights set on passing GM and Cutting Costs. Cutting Costs to the extreme is starting to cause Quality Issues, resting on your past History of high quality will hurt them if they are not careful.

Americans can build good cars, but Ford/GM/Chrysler don't know how to run a company. Look what ford is doing with thier lawsuits. Toyota makes good vehicles, but I just find them borring to drive.

WOW, times have changed..

A couple years ago we were bagging on ricers and calling toyota & honda *** crap. now 5.0s is driving a toyota. thats koo, but what a damn trip.. I dont know much about new cars, but my GFs blower tacoma has alot of power and more streetable than a stock mustang.

Time change, and so do most people but at a slower rate.
