I thought it was standard on the GT's...

I leave mine on most of the time unless I feel like having a little fun. Rarely does it ever engage, but its nice for the rain, or going around a turn quickly and hit some sand/gravel.

no traction control ? damn that sucks if you drag race all the time like me. If you want to turn it off then get a SCT Tuner . It got a feature that turn off traction off all the time. I turn mine off all the time cause it dangerous like you trying to turn and fuel cut 's off the your car is not moving wow , accident waiting to happen.

so if there isnt a button does that mean it doesnt disengage or you dont even have trac control on your car?

I'm not a fan of the TC, i turned mine off with my xcal 2. Plus ive heard its a fuel cut off type TC and thats really bad when you have a supercharger if it cuts fuel when your in boost because of tires spinning.

The car does not stop moving nor does it cut all fuel.

In rain, it's great.

That's what it feels like... when I try to take off quick and the traction icon gets lit up it feels exactly like it cut fuel.

I prefer to leave it off... generally i know when my wheels are going to slip, or when that are fixing to do so. Having fuel cut just adds extra "WTF" to my thought process while trying to diagnoise the situation...

It was, but only for certain years and packages.

Back in 1999 and 2000, ABS and traction control were two different options. You had to get ABS however, before you could get TC

Around 2001 or 2002, they became a package so you got ABS and T/C together. Depending on the year it was optional on GT deluxes and standard on GT premiums.

For 2004, ford made it optional on all models of 2004 GT. It was an $800 option, and not a lot of dealers got it so a lot of 2004's out there have neither ABS nor traction control.

SO if your 2004 doesn't have the T/C button, you don't have ABS as well.

I must be the only one that likes T/C. I leave mine on during normal driving. It's not like i drive around ripping through the gears spinning tires. When i'm on daily driving routines, it stays on and never gets tripped. In the rain, i leave it on as well since it's saved me a few times. If it's dry and sunny out and i feel like having fun, i turn it off.
