i have a question for you guys i just got back from test driving an 03 gt and i noticed the traction control light was on, i tried to shut it off and it wouldn't the salesman said that the previous owner put gears in it so thats why the light stays on, is this possibly true, i'm sure lots of you have swapped gears just wondering if your trac loc still worked afterwards . thank you

Is the ABS light on??

If the ABS light is on, then there is a problem with the system. As a default, the T/C is turned off with the ABS since it relys on the ABS sensors.

If your ABS light comes on and then turns off when you start the engine, then the ABS is functioning.

It's possible the PO had the T/C permanently disabled with a tuner. You would then need one to turn it back on.
