So im at the strip the other day only to find that leaving the traction ON improves my times by a full half second! who woulda thought that ford designed this traction system to work WITH the car and not against it as in previous models

for beginners, it is helpful. but as your launch skills improve, it hurts you more. the S197 is tricky to launch, but practice makes perfect. i forgot to shut it off once at the strip and got a better 60, but slower ET. it slowed me down past the 60' mark. 2nd gear scratch slows you down too with the TCS on.

practice with it off, and your times will definitely improve more with it off.

They do say drag-racing is a drivers sport.. I wouldn't know anything about that, never once been on a strip.

Everything i do is on a road course, and traction control on is a life saver on cold tires or too big of an ego. but every personal track record i've set in the stang for myself has been with TC off.
