Ok guys don't know if anyone seen I bought the 11' 500. It was already modded some with the 2.3 frpp s/c upgrade, cfm twin 67mm throttle body, jlt 123mm intake and a roush extreme exhaust. Plus it is an svt pp so 3.73 gears and so on. Problem is I can not hook even with 315/35/20 nitto invos out back. I wanna go to the track and get kicked off for no cage when it re-opens but I/m lost on how to make this thing hook. If you have any suggestions I am all ears thanks guys.

Most of the guys in my area with 500s run drag radials on the rear. If you still have the factory rear lower control arms I would definitely replace them with aftermarket arms. The factory LCAs including the reinforced arms that came on your car pretty flimsy . The aftermarket arms are much beefier and have stiffer bushing so they will do a much better job of planting the rear. If you plan on going to the drag strip frequently I would think about buying a pair of 18x10 rims and set of slicks

Might want to upgrade the rear sway bar too. A stiffer rear bar will help both wheels to keep planted better. With a weak sway bar more load goes on the passenger rear tire less on the drivers. Result is less traction as both tires will spin sooner.

^ I hate to disagree with some one with 2 cars as fast at the ones in your signature but in this case I think you may be mistaken. Correct me if I am wrong but simply put a sway bar works by tying both sides of the chassis to each other and the suspension. As the chassis rolls in relation to the suspension in a turn the sway bar resists the roll, the stronger the bar the more resistance. In straight line acceleration, especially with a car as powerful as a GT500 wouldn't a stiffer rear sway bar will try to lift the l/r tire as the engine causes the chassis to torque to the right?. I would however think about upgrading the panhard rod which will help keep the rear properly located under the chassis.

Needs different tires in my opinion... I have yet to see someone really get much done as far as straight line performance goes on Nitto Invo tires. Try a set of Mickey Thompson Drag Radials and you'll be surprised to see the difference.

I've always wanted to try a torque arm on the S-197's, I've seen good things about Cortex. Does anybody have/know anybody with a torque arm set up?

Try taking your rear sway bar off and then report back on the difference in traction. Been there, done that! A good stiff rear bar is absolutely necessary for improved traction.

I never said anything about removing the sway bar to improve traction. But i still disagree that installing a stiffer bar will improve traction, unless you mean replacing the factory sway bar with one specifically made for drag racing such as the BMR Xtreme anti roll bar kit (http://bmrsuspension.com/?page=products&productid=189&superpro=0)
