Tranny help PLEASE

Well i have no idea what is wrong with my tranny and turn to the guru's on here. Ok i have an 86 aod tranny and for some reason it wont shift into overdrive. Sometimes it will if i keep it at 3 grand for a couple seconds in third gear (4.10 gears) but other times it wont. What could this be? the tv cable? i have no idea but need help with solutions fast! thanks soooo much in advance. My trip to job is mainly freeway and its killen me :SNSign:

If it is shifting fine into every gear except overdrive, then it is most likely your overdrive band. You need to have it rebuilt. If you do get it rebuilt, I would recommend rebuilding the whole thing, don't just slap a new OD band on there.

well the tranny was rebuilt 10,000 miles ago so i dont see how that would be the issue. Idk its hard to explain but sometimes when i go up to a certain rpm and then let off it will shift into overdrive.

Most transmission places have some kind of warranty. Check into that option.

well it was built by the guy himself.......what should i do? i dont have much money at all. Should i just sell it to some idiot, have it rubuilt, or put a t-5 in it? how much is that on average?:SNSign:
