Tranny HELP!!

Have a 68 Stang with a 70 302 motor and C4 tranny. Am putting in an AOD tranny. I know the C4 and 302 need a 28 oz balancer and flexplate and I need a 50 oz set for the AOD. I got the flexplate but what balancer do I need to get??? I got one that was off a late model that come witth the tranny but the timing marks are all wrong. Any ideas?

ok, first you need the balancer and flexplate for the engine, NOT the tranny. that means you need a 164 tooth flexplate with a 28oz balance factor. you can get one from a 351w that uses the AOD, or you can use a C6 flexplate. summit racing has one, 164 tooth with 11.4" converter bolt circle 28oz balance factor, for about $80.

I've never done this swap but your tranny doesn't require anything but a flexplate. If you where useing a 28oz balanced motor then you still need a 28oz balancer and flexplate. You just might need a diffrent tooth flexplate to work with your starter and AOD's bell.
