Is there an easy way to check my tranny fluid? Im a big boy and its hard to get under my car. Is there a way of me telling when I need to add fluid. My dad says you can just feel it while driving. But hes also driven stick 30 years profesionaly. I just started driving stick when I bought my stang. Knowing my dads sence of humor all he would do is laugh at me if I asked him, so Im asking you.

Also is there way of telling if your clutch is going bad? I think im just paranoid, but something just seems wrong in my tansmission latley. Of course the waether has been changing from 100+ degrees and sunny to 50 degrees and stormy in the matter of a couple hours the past few days so maybe that has something to do with it.

Look in your engine bay. There's a dipstick for that and the engine oil.

are you sure? Ive searched high and low and cant find one. I was told that you ahve to get under the car and theres two plugs. One for drainage and the other to check/fill. But tis gonna be a pain to try to g et under the car and do this.

Just change the fluid if you are unsure. Go with Redline and you will notice a difference whether or not your old fluid was bad (Redline > All other oils).

should use around 2.5-3 quarts, park the car somewhere level side ot side and front to back, or use jackstands to level it out. Drain the fluid with the lower plug, and reteflon it, reinstall, fill the tranny with about 3 quarts, pull upper plug out with drain pan still below, and when the fluid stops draining from the top plug reinstall and that is your optimum level
