Sorry if this is a stupid questions asked a 100 times. Is there a major difference in changing the transmission fluid between a stick and auto?
I have an 06 GT 5 speed, I am about 30,000 miles and I was gonna change the trans fluid.

From my past experience, auto's need a change in the trans fluid more often than manuals do. 30K is what most reputable service departments recommend. My dad has an 00 F-150 and about 180K. He did not recommend a flush, just a drain and fill even though the flush was more profitable to the service dept. He changed the trans fluid every 15K (previous service manager at Ford dealership) and it shifts the same as 100 miles, and that's even with a lot of towing (10K towing 5000 pound boat). I myself don't trust the 5r55s trans in the auto but the auto guys seem to like them and they have minimal problems. Maybe I'm a bit biased because at my previous service dept experience, the 5r55s has a lot of problems in the Explorers. I guess it's not bad because the mustang weighs about 1000 lbs less.
It's much easier on a manual. Remove drain plug, wait untill fluid is drained. Reinstall drain plug. Remove fill plug, fill trans to capacity, reinstall fill plug. I dunno what the capacity is on this trans, most transmissions have you fill it untill it poors out of the plug, but this one may have it lower than that.

Actually, it's better to remove the FILL plug first. Lets it drain faster, and, more importantly, you know that you can fill the tranny back up BEFORE you drain it, and realize that the fill plug won't come out because some dumb ass buggered up the threads
