Tranny slipping/broken?

is there still any reason why when my car shifts into 2nd [it's an automatic] that my check engine light comes on and the RPMs go up to about 5500 then it finally catches?

I'm praying my transmission isn't shot

had that problem too. No check engine light, but mine drops out of overdrive on the highway every so often. I'm just gonna get a B&M street aode or a lentech street performer. I have 140k and the old one wont handle the new Vortech I'm gonna install
