Tranny Troubles

Has anybody ever heard of a t-5 tailshaft housing crack? I thought it was kinda wierd, but i took my 94 gt to ford, and they said it was cracked, but i didnt see the crack when they showed me. It leaks gear oil from somewhere, and i was wondering if anybody has had this problem before. We all know how some of those mechanics can be at times, but i really dont think it is cracked. Let me know if there are similar problems out there, and if so, what did you all find out.

T5s are notorious for fluid leaking out of the tailshaft. what is most common is the vibration bushing in the tailshaft get burrs on it or just gets old and the tailshaft seal blows out and that is what causes the tailshaft to leak. defenitely have to change the bushing and seal to fix it. it isnt to hard I got my info from borg warner which makes our trannys.
