trans, trouble

I just bought a 98 gt. the second time i drove it, it lost second gear but still had 1st 3rd 4th and 5th, i got to a stop sign, put it in 1st and now its stuck in 1st, even when the shifter is in nutral. if you put it in 3 4 5 or revers it wont move, its in 2 gears at the same time. so i pulled the tranny and opend it up but nothing obvious and i dont know much about standard trannys. its a t-45 and i cant find another one around here. i live around toledo oh. any help would be great, thanks

Look in the classified section here or corral.net, I see tons of t-45s come and go in the Detroit craigslist too, my buddy just picked one up with a clutch for $250 so just look around.

That happened to me years ago on a T5, it was all tore up inside though. Chipped gears, missing teeth, etc. Since you said yours looked fine inside, I would have to guess the syncros are hosed.
