Just finished installing the AOD-HP kit in my 91 LX. Several problems have surfaced. I have a super crisp shift from 1-2, WOT it shifts around 4800. Once in 2nd it quickly shifts to 3. I mean like 100-200 rpm then it hits 3rd. Also I have no OD at all??

I followed the printed instructions and omitted the Hi-Rev kit. I installed the two extra springs on top of the 2-3 accumulator per the instructions. I also dropped the A servo expecting to change something on it, but the kit did not have anything to replace. So i simply reinstalled it.

Gears are stock 2:73's but will soon be swapping in some 3:55's.

Any help is much appreciated.

small update. I noticed that the tranny was a quart over full, so I drained it down to read normal on the dipstick. Seems to have taken care of the early 2-3 shift. I have also noticed that the 2-3 shift is rather unpredictable.

I am thinking the TV cable needs adjusting? Could a simple shift kit install mess this setting up? Also when I shift into OD the engine just revs up, like its out of gear???

Yes, adjust the TV cable. If that doesn't help, then your trans is shot. The servo that you removed...isnt that the one for the od band? did you mess up the seal when you reinstalled the servo piston?

superhuaman,
Thanks for your input. I really doubt my tranny is shot. I have read every post on MustangForums about transgo shift kits, that is your answer to everyone. There is obviously something wrong with the valvebody, TV cable, or A selonoid from when I messed with them. The tranny now shifts fine from 1-2, 2-3. Shifts vary accordingly with pedal pressure, as they should. Just no OD still.
Still looking for more input. Thanks.

FYI, Called Transgo. They stated that the A selonoid was not installed correctly. Will check it this weekend and report back out.
