I just put the transmission back in my car. I had it rebuilt a couple months ago cause it was grinding going into 5th. Bolted everything back up and went to try it out. Now it's grinding going into 3rd and 4th. At the time I had the t5 out, I put in a new flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. Did I do something wrong on reassembly or was the rebuild a failure?

is there anyway to get a stock clutch cable to grab high? like where the brake pedal is? its way to damn stiff for it to grab near the bottom
FWA. one can have it grab where ever one wants, within reason. :)

How close to the bottom does it grab?

If it's grabbing right off the floor i really do think the cable stretched and it's not releasing all the way when you push it in.

A firewall adjuster will help you adjust it, but if the cable is stretched you should replace it.

Did you try pulling up on the clutch pedal to take up slack with the self-adjuster? Pull the pedal up and then push it to the floor. If it clicks, it needed adjustment.

I was thinking of the cable also. However, it only grinds going into those gears while the car is moving. If I am stopped but the car is running the gears are fine. The clutch actually grabs high.
