I have a 2007 Mustang GT automatic with 91,000 miles. Last friday my drive and reverse went out and I had to get my car towed to the local dealership. I could still manually select 1,2 and 3 gear. They quoted me at 4,700 for a new transmission. I respectifully declined and towed my car to a transmission shop and they are going to take a look at it. No word yet. I am just curious if this is common with this year mustangs 5R55S transmission. I had no prior hard shifts or signs of imminent failure.
