Is the automatic transmission out of a 3.8 mustang the same as the GT?

I am going to be rebuilding a transmission for my 95 gt and would like to have it rebuilt prior to taking the one that is in there out. I have access to several 3.8 mustang transmissions but the GT isn't as accessable.

They're not the same.

Are you looking at an AODE from a New Edge V6?

No I am not. I am looking at a 94 or 95 mustang v6.

Tranny in the 94-95 gt is the same in the v-6. Got a v-6 on in mine right now hav for 3 yrs no problems
