Transmission Range Sensor ...

Hi

its been a long time since i posted on this forum

so i just wanted to ask to see if you have had the same problem
my car is a 96 v6 automatic
and on occasions the starter wont kick in when i turn the ignition key
and i have to wiggle the the shifter or move it to neutral in order to start the car, other than that the car has no problems what so ever.

I have narrow it down to the neutral safety/range sensor.

what other symptoms does the range sensor could cause other than the no starter kicking in

I don't understand your question. Are you asking how to narrow it down to the DTR? Or are you asking if it's OK to ignore it?

If the DTR works in neutral but not in park, likely there is an adjustment issue. Ford makes a special tool to align the DTR. Some ppl have been able to adjust it without the tool. YMMV.

I have already narrow it down to the DTR
so the question is:

what other symptoms could the range sensor show besides the no starter on park

i can start the car in pork or in neutral that's not a problem
the thing is that i don't want it to give up on me before i change it that's why i asked for the other symptoms of a range sensor malfunction other that the ones stated on my op
