Transmission Trouble

Ok I have a bone stock 92 lx 5.0. Problem is trans shifts fine 1st to 2nd but 3rd to 4th is drawn out and rpms raise up. I have already drained and put new filter in,still doing the same thing.Any ideas of what could possibly be the problem?

How many miles, have you looked into adjusting the tv cable?
I don't know much about the adjustment just know it affects shifting

I had the same problem with my 92 last summer and wound up losing 4th gear completely. Did you use any Lucasor aanything with your fluid change?

Have you checked your tv cable? I'll check my book but I think there should be no slack with the throttle closed, not pulling on the tv cable but no slack.

Same thing happened to me, and I also lost 4th gear and ended up having to replace the tranny.
