My Friend Has Got A 5.0 HO Motor, He Just Told Me Today. So I Was Thinking About Buying It, But He Said Hes Got An Automatic Transmission But I Think Its An AODE. So I Was Wondering What All Kinds Of Transmission Would Work In A 1991 Mustang Lx 5.0 Without Having To Do Modifications. Any All Help Is Greatly Appreciated, Thanks :SNSign:

i'm nearly certain it's just a plain old aod, not the aode. Aod's suck in stock trim. they'll slow you down by a second over the manual's. The common swap is to swap in a t5 from a manual mustang. for 87-93 you only have two factory transmissions to choose from, the aod, or 5 speed t5.

aftermarket choices are even better. For indestructable, the tremec 500 and 600 5 speeds, or the gforce t5. Or, if you have deep pockets, the tremec t56 6 speed will work (yes that's the viper and camaro 6 speed, they sell them for the stangs too)

another place to learn about factory transmissions is www.mustanggt.org They list from 1979 - 1993 and all of the different revisions.

Actually, that is the 1982-1993 GT registry site. They start at 1982 even though the Fox platform started in 1978 with the Fairmont and 1979 with the Mustang. The GT was re-introduced in 1982.

The only auto trans offered on the 91 was an AOD. The aod-e didn't show up until 94.

Thanks For The Help

My Friend Found A C4 In His Garage, So Im Going To Buy The Motor & The C4 To Put In It. My Cousin Has Got A 65 Ford Pickup That We Are Restoring & He Used My Motor, Transmission, Wiring Harness, & Computer To Put In It. I Didnt Buy The Car Until After He Had Tool All Of That Out. The Motor My Friend Has Is Fuel Injection. How Hard Would It Be To Switch The Motor From Fuel Injection To Carborated. Also How Much Should I Ask For The Fuel Injection Intake & The Other Fuel Injection Stuff, Thanks Again

Carbureted. Take a look at the website below under the "Tech" section.

That stuff is very hard to give away. Put it in the Classifieds in case someone needs stock replacement.
