TRANSMISSON PROBLEM

WHAT UP FELLAS I HAVE A 2003 MUSTANG GT WITH A 3650 TRANS AND IT SEEMS LIKE 3RD GEAR IS ALWAYS GRINDING AND I HAVE A FRIEND WITH THE SAME TRANS AND IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. ANY SUGGESTIONS OR COMMENTS WOULD HELP THANX.

do you have a short shifter?

Mine is fine. I only do it when I try and throw third sometimes and miss

Common with the T-3650. There is a design flaw in the trans that gives it a notchy shift into 2nd and 3rd which sometimes grinds. It's less common on '03's as it's more an 01-02 problem.

However, prior to rebuilding your trans, i would change the fluid first and try an adjustable clutch quadrant
