I bought a Tri-Ax shifter for my '90 GT back in '98 or '99. In the first summer I had the handle break off right at the base of the threads. Called Steeda they sent me a new one. problem fixxed. In the past couple summers I've been fighting with a constantly coming loose shift lever on my shifter.
2 weeks ago my shifter stops shifting while going down the road. I pull over and pull the console cover off and see that one of the bolt loosedup and fell out of the handle. I threaded it back in hand tight and drove home.
Sick off this problem (3rd time it's happened) I went out and bought longer bolts and nylock nuts. When I wen tto solve this problem permanently I discovered that the Steeda handle has no longer got any threads in the handle part. They've worn almost completely away. The shifter part is fine. So I tightened up the nuts/bolts and it seams fine, but I'm still mad about the worn out shifter handle threads.
Has anyone else experienced this with their Tri-Ax shifter handle?
