I have a 66 Fastback that I'm installing a new endine in and was wondering if I should put the tri-y's on before or after the install. The engine bay also has fresh pai and I'm planning to use blankets on the engine bay sides for the install, (don't tell the wife that I'm using her blankets, you guy's know what I mean)but I'm not sure of the best way to do this. Thanks

My Tri-Y's went on after and from the bottom. I found for my install the it was easy to put on duct tape on the sides of the pipes(not all the way around the pipe, just the sides that will hit the engine well) and then it's pretty easy to peel it back off. As long as you remove the tape within a couple of hours then all the adheasive should come off with the tape. If not, well just wake up your pony and burn it off :D
Otherwise it's actually pretty easy and even easier if you get a friend to help you from up top.

Easy to do yourself as well. Just have a short length of bungee chord handy. Feed them up carefully from the bottom and then use the bungee wrapped around the bottom of the header near the collector. Hook it onto something to hold the header from falling out while you move up top and bolt them in place.
