i wouldnt be real thrilled with the tfs1 cam, seems very underpowered compared to the track head and tw heads. just looking for a place thats willing to help me mix and match for around the same price.

Take the tfs1 cam and use it as a hood prop, you'll make more power that way. After having a custom camshaft ground I'll never buy an off the shelf cam again. My kit was a trickflow kit with Jay's valvetrain and Jay's cam designed to make minimum 300 horsepower and torque on a completely stock bottom end 302 with no flycut pistons and no PTV issues. My heads had a bowl blend and were milled to 58cc combustion chambers. My car made 306/311 with a stock clutch fan, A/C, power steering, and stock driveshaft. There was more power to be had and the car idled like stock and pulled HARD. Jay actually offers my H/C/I combo now as a package that guarantees that power level without touching the stock bottom end.
That was one of the main reasons I went with Anderson Ford Motorsport. For the custom blower grind cam, and the custom tunes, since I run the Anderson PMS controller. Andersons cams are just plain awesome!
it is a little odd they package the .490 tfs1 cam with their fast as cast heads and the track intake, i wouldnt mind the tfs2 though. i may contact TFS about that
I pieced my kit together and saved a rather hefty amount, then contacted Ed Curtis myself and had him grind my cam. Love my combo it kicks some serious butt and is driveable for what I have done to it. All a matter of options and opinions.
Since I also had time I just searched around on ebay and CL and found someone offering the heads I wanted brand new in box for 350 less than off the shelf pricing. Always a guy in your area that decided to switch directions after he invested. I say wait it out and do it that way. I saved over 600 bones that way.
sorry to bring up a dead thread, ive been doing some research and this caught my attention. is this something AFM offers on their website or do you have to contact someone?
