How does the trick flow street package work with an automatic>? Is the cam okay? Like will it idle and everything?

I have the whole trickflow setup, and if you dont have a stall the auto sucks with this setup, I felt like I was driving a stock car with my auto with no stall. So I switched to 5spd and the car rocks now. And about the idle deal, I dont know but my car seemed to not idle good, so I fixed that by switching to carb and a crane distributor, ignition box,and coil and now runs like a charm. I really encourage you to get a 5spd, you want believe the difference it gives you. OH, about the cam I think its a good choice, the power really starts coming in at about 3500 but I have 1.7rr on my stage 1.

How did the AODE feel with the Trick flow kit and a stall?

We have installed a couple of the Trick Flow kits on AODE cars but on the ones we did, we also did a converter. You WILL need a tune to get the most out of it and to get the idle better and maximize the shift points because the power band will be higher. The cars that we did with higher stall converters felt like new cars with all the upgrades - and I suspect track times will show a bigger improvement than the old SOTP meter mainly because most of the power gain is form 3500 and up - and sometimes its harder to feel that.

With my 3500 stall, the car rocked but with no stall it sucks bad, with the stall i couldnt get my car to hook for nothing and that was with 3:55s, when I switched to the 5spd its the world class and it just seemed to gear it low and now the thing spins from 1st to 3rd maybe a set of drag radials will do the trick, I hope you dont have this problem. but yes invest in a stall I would go at least 3000 but I loved my 3500. I just think a stick if more fun but the auto w/a stall is faster.

Summit sells the package.

What combo would be the best for a good amount of low-end? Like gt40s with a ported cobra? I want to have a fun street car...not a strip car. I want good lowend.

Use the name of Snoozer in a search for this forum.

He is using P Heads, comp cam, and IIRC, a RPM intake.

Very nice looking curves indeed.

You really can't see the big picture between them until you compare them all.

THis is a very well covered topic, if you search.

My comment on the TFS kit would be that I installed it with a different cam. The person I spoke with at the TFS tech line explained that the cam that comes with the kit is really designed for the fox body computer. Our computer has trouble with this cam. So he directed me to Anderson FOrd Motorsport (where I got the B-31 cam). And Trickflow substitutued a TB elbow and intake spacer for the cam, in the kit.

With the B-31 cam, I ended up with a nice idle, without resorting to any computer/chip/EEC tuning. I plan to eventually do a PMS to tune for maximum power, but it runs fine for now.

Mine is a 5 speed, so I can't comment on the AODE driveability question.

How much hp is the stock aode cam good for? Isn't it good for around 280hp? With trickflow heads and intake?

I saw a big discussion on the Corral about this kit with an auto trans car.

The jest of it was ...... you would not reach 300rwhp with the auto and the complete kit.

Without the cam ...... the numbers are gonna have to be lower.
