Hello I am new on here. I just installed trick flow top end kit on my 92 fox 5.0. I want to get it dyno'd but why is my timing at 38° to make it even run right. If I advance it more it stalls and won't start. If I start retarding it runs like total crap (misfire, ect) . I know my timing chain marks are lined up right when I put it back together. Please help!

Did you try re-stabbing your distributor? Sounds like you may be a tooth off.

I have advanced my timing when I got the car before the trick flow top end kit and set it at 13 when I had my b303 cam. But 38 sounds ridiculous for a 5.0. I'm pretty sure my timing chain marks are lined up right

Well I've had to re-stab mine a couple of times before because mine can't be spun 360 degrees. So in my case (and others'), it's fixed the timing issue. I guess I see how it technically can't be one tooth off, but if you can't spin the distributed 360* it's a pretty simple way to fix it.

I guess I should make sure it's on #1 in compression stroke as well? I havnt thought about that till now. Maybe that would make a difference?
