Ok, finally did my big install
first up, BIG props to Wes Ratcliff (stanger007) for letting me use his tools, his house, and his experience to get this all done. I could not have done this without him.
Heres the modlist that we installed:
Trickflow Twisted Wedge heads, 2.02 intake valve, 1.60 exhaust
Trickflow stage 1 cam, 221/225 degree duration at .050, .499/.510 in., with a 1.6 rocker ratio, and a 112 degree lobe separation
Trickflow 1.6 rockers
Trickflow Street Heat intake with 1 inch phenolic spacer
BBK 75mm Throttlebody
Mac longtube headers
Trickflow valve covers
24lb fuel injectors
Also did the misc stuff like timing chain, all new gaskets, pushrods, etc
Already had some things like high flow fuel pump..
Overall it was a very fun experience with some stressful and some easy going times. I got nervous near the end because I wanted to finish so bad and not have my car in Wes's way all week long.
We had a few snags, like needing hose clamps, having problems getting upper intake bolted in due to lack of space, new vacuum tubes, but nothing we couldnt overcome.
Big issue was my Mac prochamber did not get close to fitting...it may be for a fox body or a 4.6 mustang. Im gonna have to order one and get it asap so we can have car driving this weekend. Also I need to get a new thermostat gasket cause it was leaking bad.
We did manage to get the car started using a base cobra tune and it seemed to idle pretty dang good once we got the timing set right. It was deafening running open headers though, sounded like a drag car lol
On to the pics!
Instead of posting them all and making you scroll thru dozens, heres a link to each day
