12.80 @ 107 shifting too early and not enough gear (only 373, needed 410). Heavy 3300lb race weight.

You have a stick so 12's are not out of reach for you........I think you can hit it with a good 60'.........and some hella shifting....

High 12's are normal around the 108mph range. With some drag radials.

Good Luck, it is a great bang for the buck kit!

That's on your stock short block right? How many miles on it? Have you done a compression check?

The reason I ask, I've trapped 98 mph on my stock engine before the rings started to go. Something's up. I wouldn't consider this the norm, even for an AODE. The mph is the tell. I'm not sure 4.10's are going to help you on the big end. Guess it depends on what you cross the line at rpm wise and how much higher the powerband is with the kit.

Times are in my sig, and I'm still running the stock cam. Definitely fun and worth the work!

yeah Paul.........stock bottom end...only 66,000 on the engine....never done a compression check...engine seems very strong...in 1 and 2 great....but you can feel it "plane" off in 3rd........I don't have a shift kit but the SCT tune firmed up the shift points.......I'll try to document some data next time out.....trap speed has always been low...tried everything to get it up.....I think i trapped at 101 once...and that was withthe 2600 stall..

well I have a convertible also weighs 3460 without me in it
so i will probably run a couple tenths less than you coupe guys..
I have 373 gears and will have longtubes and full exhaust
hope i can nail at least high 12's with my drag radials

Third should feel like a 5-speed in 4th in a round about way. Even 4th doesn't feel like 2nd in a manual. It's hard to guess over the net what you feel. Text = teh suk But you could have toasted clutches in third. It should still pull pretty hard.

It'll be interesting to see how my car runs when I get it finished. The goal is the end of the month.

What RPM do you cross the line at?

I did buy the bigger pump...... ..

fuel pump that is.......lol....

Paul....I'm not sure what rpm I cross at.......I had been concentrating on shift points and 60's........we all had a good conversation in the past about the 4:10 getting to the powerband quicker so that third would hold it longer....

Yes we did... I still say you should go to the track again BEFORE swappin gears. That way you'll know what the RPM difference is. Because like you said. "hold the rpm longer" - but what RPM?

Yeah Paul....I will do that just to see........I'm not in a huge rush to swap the gears anyway....not that i don't want them ....but I don't see that much strip time.....I will let you know when I am going and we will have to see.......what the old girl is turning when I cross....
