Tried searching, but didnt find anything...Standard equipment?

OK, I am trying to find out what was standard equipment on the 2003 Mustang GT. More specifically, I am trying to find out if all the 03 GT's came with the keyless entry, and if not, how can I tell if mine did?

Just bought it last week and it didnt come with the keychain remote, but I have yet to see one that didnt have it. It's a 5-speed with leather, power seat, and the Mach stereo system if that helps anyone. It also has the trac control--dont know if that was an option or not.

Is there a place where I can look this up, or does someone know already?

they all had keyless entry. where did you buy the car? they all came with 2 keys and 2 remotes, meaning someone is out there with remotes that will unlock your car.

Just get on eBay and get a couple remotes. They are really easy to program. And once you program a new remote, the old remote will no longer work. I got mine for about $25 shipped.

how ironic...when I came back to check this thread, the banner at the top of the page was for original keyless.com...thanks for the input, checking that out now.

On a side note has anyone found a less expensive way to get keys made? I was told that the only way to get a new key was thru Ford, because of the chip inside, and they want $140 per key....

bdcardinal--this was a repossessed car, so I only got what the car place had. But plans are already in the works for an aftermarket alarm system, probably a compustar remote start...

ya dealer only due to PATS. if you get the remotes and keys done they can make it so only those specific ones will work with the car.

Look on ebay for a Key Blank. They show up from time to time.

If you have TWO keys, you can just take the blank and get it cut and then program the 3rd key yourself. The directions are in the manual.

If you only have 1 key, you will need to go to the dealer. It's a security feature to keep a Valet from swinging by the hardware store, cutting a blank and programming it himself.

Also, directions for programing the keyless remotes is also in the manual.

As for other options, standard options depend on Deluxe or Premium trim levels. Mach 460, leather, ABS/TC are standard on premiums, while they are all optional on the deluxe model.

Biggest difference is painted 5-spoke wheels on the deluxe and bullitt wheels on the premiums

As far as my car, I dont know which package I have.

It has leather, drivers power seat, pwr windows.locks.mirrors, tilt, cruise, AC, traction control, fog lamps, 6 disc CD changer in-dash/mach stereo system....I dont know about the rims because it has 18" Cobra R's on it now and thats how I bought it.

I dont know what the mach 460 is, on the speaker grilles it says "mach stereo system", is that the same or different than the 460? It actually doesnt sound half-bad, expecially for a stock system. But I have a new Kenwood deck that I am thinking about swapping in, I understand that there is some wiring harness that I can get at best buy that will let me use the kenwood and still keep the mach speaker setup.

you can go to a dealer with your VIN and ask for an OASIS and a Build of Materials. that will list the build date as well as all the options on the vehicle. you can also request that they order a reprinted window sticker.

140 per key?

my car came with 1 remote and 1 key. when i went to the dealer they wanted 45 for the key and 50 to program it.

i went on ebay and got 2 blank ford keys and i will be taking 1 to the dealer for cutting and programing and i will program the second blank key myself.

The ads are dynamic and respond to content and text available on the page, so if the thread talks about keyless entry, chances are the ad displays something related through intelligent design.

About your key situation, the worst thing (but cheapest) you could do is disable the PATS system which im guessing would let you use any ol' key cut to size just throwing that out there, youre probably better off doing what the other posts are saying about programmin it yo'self.

As for your radio setup, the mach 460 is a premium stock system with three different amps and a total of 8 speakers (i believe) with a total of 460 watts of power, which aint too bad for stock. If youre gonna use an aftermarket head unit, then you will need the METRA or Scosche wiring harness adapter, which is aint too complicated to get running if you do yer homework. I used a Scosche on my 99 mach 460 with a Pioneer headunit and it sounds great for stock. I believe the 03/04 mach setups have a different adapter, but same concept as mine. just my 2 cents

EDIT: Dont let ANYONE (especially Pro shops) tell you that the mach system wont work with an aftermarket head unit, cuz it does

I work at a hardware store, and we have a machine that can code the keys. I can do it for like $50. Check with them. I don't charge to code the key, just the cost of the key. I just programmed mine, and bought two remotes off e-bay. Easy to program.

For '03 there was the Mach 460 and Mach 1000. I beleive the deluxes also got the Mach MP3, but that was a single disk radio. If yours is a 6-disk changer, it's either the 460 or 1000. If your trunk is filled with a HUGE amp rack and subs, then it's the 1000. If it's jus a small amp rack tucked under the rear speakers, it's the 460. Also the head unit on the 1000 will have a button saying "Mach" i beleive that you hit to activate the subs. It would be in the top right. If that button says "phone mute" or something like that, it's the 460.

With the list of features you describes, only way to tell if it was a GT or deluxe would have been the wheels. Unfortunately they are gone lol.

There are a few other options available that it sounds ike you don't have. The Mach 1000, the interior upgrade package which was silver color interior trim, bullitt pedals and a billet shifter ring as well as larger headrests and the chrome 99/01 style cobra wheel option which was $300 more on the GT premium and i WISH i got way back when
